About my goal

Having a more detailed house with more controlable parameters was what I wanted. As I said before texturing my house to make it a full prop would be nice.


Fixing the roof

I began with fixing an issue with the roof on the lower floor. The corners weren't connected which resulted in flat corners. To fix this I followed the following workflow.

Substract points with unshared edges

Subdivision

Apply some vex code

Group all points

Texturing

Because I'm using Houdini Apprentice I could not render more than 512x512. Plus when rendering with Mantra there are watermarks on the materials. I noticed this when refreshing my Substance Designer skills. I didn't finish it because of the ugly result I got when rendering. However I'm glad I did some SD again. Here is a screenshot of a material I was making (WIP/Test) for the walls of the building.
